Does anyone know- say a jw signed their blood card specifying all the fractions they are willing to take and is signed by 2 elders, could the family (all non jw) keep all jw's out of the hospital room? in my mind the blood card only allows them to make sure they aren't taking whole blood. Would they even fight the issue? or would a legal battle ensue?

That "card" is really a healthcare power of attorney. What are the laws in your area regarding spouses legal rights. Laws are regulated by each state. I would check with the government department in your state to see if you can override your husband's selections for healthcare agents excluding you his wife.

Also, remember you might want to legally cut your spouse out of making medical decisions for you since I assume you do not agree with the WTS blood directives.

If a person doesn't want clergy visiting, all s/he needs to do is to indicate that upon admission to the hospital, or not list a religious preference.
If they happen to hear about it and visit anyway, they can just be asked to leave.
