    VI - not legal here.

Hey, it's no biggie if people want to do it. It's your choice. I just think that people should check out the local laws, and they can make their choice accordingly. I

After thinking about it, I don't think it's a good idea. There really is very little danger to the public, because the vast majority of people are completely uninterested in Jehovah's Witness are are hardly going to allow one to allow one to gain access to their children. It's counter productive to pretend their is a problem when there is none. The danger is to those in the congregations who are not aware of the issue and they are not likely to believe a flyer or post.

Perhaps it would be better to simply forward the news reports about the Candace Conti case or others rather than creating a flyer, that would give it more credibility and avoid any legal issues.

Lisa Rose, I usually appreciate your posts, but this time I disagree strongly, with this ;" It's counter-productive to pretend there is a problem when there is none."

There is a huge problem with JW's allowing Paedophiles to go door to door, as well as the HUGE problem of their not having proper protection in place within their Org. for the vulnerable.

The Public deserves to be warned about. these problems.

Why pour cold water on an initiative that is likely to bring better results as to promoting a negative attitude by the Public than anything we XJW's have done thus far ?

    Lisa Rose,

"There really is very little danger to the public, because the vast majority of people are completely uninterested in Jehovah's Witness are are hardly going to allow one to allow one to gain access to their children."

The public in general may not be interested in the Jehovah's Witnesses but show them the video clip below and they will develop an interest. Start at the 22:20 minute mark:

I know I'm late responding to this, but, if I've read correctly over the last few months, Watchtower has the highest incident rate currently known of a religious organization.

The scope of abuse in the Jehovah's Witnesses is a matter of considerable debate. The church has recently been sued by eight plaintiffs in four lawsuits alleging abuse, one filed in July in Minnesota. Mr. Bowen says that his victims support group, "silentlambs," has collected reports from more than 5,000 Witnesses contending that the church mishandled child sexual abuse.

If these numbers are accuate then that means the amount of child abuse is far greater proportionally to the church. They have far more reports/claims than the church (which has less than 3,000 cases) but with far fewer numbers (more than 100times fewer witnessss than Catholics). Granted, the article does not say these 5,000 claim to be victims. But I also remember reading there were an incredible amount of claims made in Australia.

frankly tho, looking at the kids as statistics makes me feel kinda bad. Regardless of the prevalence it's happening and they aren't admitting it; even going so far as calling the victims liars. At least the church finally owned their wrongs.

    Flyers are so 20th Century..and cult-like. (Watchtowerish)

Just improve your posting titles on this forum. Use keywords when starting a thread. Simply sharing some news stories on Craigs list, and Facebook with good keyword titles "Jehovah" "Watchtower" "Jehovah's Witness Elder". No need to act crazy or work hard.

I think it would be far more effective to join other groups campaigning for the mandatory reporting of abuse cases.

Fair point. I also support that as a way to make a difference, for the safety of children.

" MandateNow, supported by Survivors UK, Respond and The Survivors Trust, the national umbrella agency for over 130 specialist sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse support organisations throughout the UK, are petitioning for the introduction of legislation to significantly improve the culture and delivery of child protection in faith settings, schools, sports organisations, the NHS, care settings, and other institutions in which children are looked after by trusted adults.
