What's the point of the Awake?

Ozziepost your comments make a lot of sense. You are right - most dubs never get around to reading all the lightweight stuff in the Awake. The Tower would do better to go for quality rather than quantity. But of course there would be inherent danger in lifting the standard too much - if you get my drift. Better to keep the info simple and non threatening to the humble followers!

Elsewhere: interesting about the budget cuts - it's inevitable that the contribution system will reduce income. So trimming of the fat will follow.

    gb: loved your list!!

and VM44's "bait" is insightful in the extreme!

Are they Awake at the Watchtower?

The Amake! magazine always seemed to be re-hashed bullshit that some geriatric fool with a 6th grade education wrote after watching a pro-creation bit on the Discovery Channel the night before.

The purpose of the Awake!(why the exclamation mark?)is to use it in door to door work to cover up the Watchtower magazine underneath (which compared to the watchtower is "must read"stuff)...so that the publisher might have at least half a chance of selling them.

I always enjoyed reading "Watching the world".

Doom, gloom and disapproval, more famines, earthquakes, sex, violence, breakdown of family values drone drone drone drone.

Normal dub fare, YK fodder, no wonder they're mostly nuts.

    Bring on the dancing girls!
