    Hey OnTheWayOut!

I enjoyed reading your commonsense approach.

Religion to me does indeed have their own biased way of re-defining "sin", "right" and "wrong" with the motive of assuming power, authority and control over "their flock" or the "laity class".

When not under the influence of religion the average person whose conscience is functioning generally seems to have a much better (and more moderate) sense of "right" and "wrong".

What about doing what your priest doesn't want you to? I mean looking at material that is critical of the religion. Look at material that is anti-Christian. See if it has merit, and if you go back, wonder how you ever felt right in believing that. The more you research, the better.

You might just find that "right" (as in "right hand path religion") means wrong. And "left" is correct.

Perhaps all we need to do to be right with 'God,' is live in harmony with other people, be loving, kind and do as little damage to our panet as we can.

Praying and singing hymns on Sunday may be comforting but our deeds speak louder than our voices.

my own view is that we just have to live with not being right with ourselves and with whatever God is to us. we are here to strive and forge new paths. this is the conundrum of life imo

Personally I think you only have to be right with yourself. If you are okay with how you live and any consequences that may come if you're not "right" them RIGHT ON, but if you're not then search on my friend, search on.
