we hadn't had any visits for a long time. we have had lights (the white ones that look like icicles) for a while. i didn't think much of it. it was on my mind to send a DA letter. Is it too late?
I too have been charged with apostasy! Stunned.

@leavingwt I assumed it was the lights ... I usually take them down every spring but this year I said, ah, to hell with it.

Turn the Xmas lights back on- you just love the pretty colored lights. It's just like eating Xmas candy and Easter candy- JWs do that and they don't get Df'd.
Who doesn't think those old bubble lights aren't cool? Hang a string of them around your front window--

Blacksheep... I like it. I gotta save that form since they'll be coming for me anyday now for the cross that I have hanging on the rearview mirror of my car. It doesn't have any blinking lights that say "Here I am...Pick me, please pick me" but it is not flying under the radar to avoid trouble. When they see that form the will run like Vampires from the sunlight.

Well, IMHO, writing a letter is apostasy.
You can always DA by writing a letter, giving no reason. If they make an announcement, it gives no indication of what happened. However, it's safe to assume that most of the JWs know about your lights. Christmas = Babylon the Great = Apostasy, in the minds of more than a few. You've turned away from true teachings and have joined ranks with Satan, publicly promoting a pagan holiday.
