Scully I must be older than you, when I think of him I don't even think about New Years, my mind goes back to when I was growing up in the 60's to Saturday mornings watching American Bandstand, that is the Saturday mornings my mother decided not to go out knocking on those doors.
We are going to miss you Dick Clark.

The world just got a little less cool.
Does this mean it's going to be 2012 forever?
Altho I too remember him better as the American Bandstand host, he was a New Years eve fixture.
RIP Mr. Clark...I can hear the bandstand Boggie rocking in heaven tonight!
i remember watching american bandstand after school late 50's early 60's I loved it being an adolescent watching the older teenagers dance. Dick Clark's death causes all those memories to spill out
I remember Dick most fondly from Saturdays learning the new dances from American Bandstand. Then there was Pyramid and New Years Eve. He and my dad were the same age.
News Year's Eve will never be the same.
And...I used to love American Bandstand in my younger years.
sigh.
