The CERN scientists who had made the very interesting (and contraversial) claim that they had beamed neutrino particles to a reciever at a speed faster than the speed of light have retracted the claim...
It turns out that there was an error in the experiment due to a faulty connector.
The original announcement was met with a great deal of noise from the scientific community as it would potentially have overturned a large foundation of basic physics.
