To all of those who are celebrating Easter for the first time--
This is the best holiday of them all IMO. Maybe it's because I live in the tundra. It's a celebration of sunny/windy spring weather, new shoes, candy, colored eggs, flowers and cute baby animals. What's not to love?
It has always been my favorite holiday. In the few pre-jw years I had as a kid, it was my favorite then. I would get into my dress coat, hat, gloves, white patent Mary Janes and white patent purse to match. (I so wish I had that outfit today.) There was a hunt in the house and back yard for brightly colored eggs and sweets. Kites. I could finally break out my chalk and go draw on the driveway, after eating a nice holiday meal with the extended family.
When my grandmother gave me Peeps in an Easter basket I was ecstatic. Even though they taste terrible. lol
I always thought it was the most.fun.thing.ever.
I haven't ever done an egg hunt in a group. Adults can't go to them without kids. I wish I could have a big Easter celebration for all the ex-dubs.
