    IN the 1960s many older people believed that the youth revolt was unique and signalled the end of Western civilization. The Beatles were viewed as satanic. Someone found hyroglypics (Sp) from early Egyptian civilization. The words condemned the youth culture of ancient Egypt with even stronger language.

    Repeated droughts, plagues, infant mortality, child mortality, pain from toothaches was every place.

    The average white Englishman worked in factories under worse conditions than the slaves in America.

    Watchtower's vision of the World before 1914 could be considered a utopia. But is that true?

    Then couple that with poverty, disease and unscrupulous traders unfettered by trading laws who polluted foodstuffs for dishonest gain, and you have a pretty rotten time to be alive
