That's true butal,doesn't mean we switch it off and ignore it ourselves.It's continued exposure that will hopefully lead to policy changes that will prevent further abuses to unwitting victims. it's the 'oh well,head in the sand' attitude that allows these crimes to keep occuring. There are lots of people on this board working to help make and support changes that protect and prevent others from becoming victims.T

I caught the tail end of it JT Thanks I was amazed at how the guy from Boston(sorry I can't remember his name) continued to extoll the good the Cardinal has done, attempting to tip the scales? The fact is the Catholic church has changed their policies and Ted Koppel even asked if it was in part due to the Boston Globes persistent airing of their wrongdoings. Even the catholic supporter admitted that it was. Without exposure and public outcry many things can go unnoticed.

The policies that the org has in place now, makes it the most dangerous place for children and families. Without the public outcry it is able to go unnoticed. I only hope that Dateline is not the only hope of getting the word out. I personally will write a letter to my local paper tomorrow and make them aware of this issue.

Of particular interest is the fact most of the cases referred to in the Catholic Church happened in the 60's and 70's. Since that time they have been very quick to take action and the result has been few if any current cases. JW's on the other hand are still going strong and when dateline airs will have current cases from the 1990's and 2000's to show it is an ongoing issue. What has been the response of God's organization when asked to come forward and explain their actions?

Boy that will make the public really love Jehovah's Witnesses don't you think? Then they can say Satan is persecuting them as they protect the pedophile paradise. But when you follow that thought through then that would mean Jehovah loves pedophiles as He is on the Faithful and Discreet Slave's side trying to protect them. Will any thinking JW's make this bridge of thought? If they do, "no comment" will just not get the job done.

I am not sure if this was on Nightline, but I just briefly saw a story about Pharmaceuticals. Did anyone else see this?

They are using every manipulative tool in the books to get doctors to 'prescribe, prescribe, prescribe!' Much of it is, very literally, bribery.

Here in my area, they have radio talk on the AM station and the 2 guys were talking about this priest in 60's who got sentenced to 9 years of jail. They said he sure will get his sex appetite fulfilled now! LOL....... they are disgusted by the Pope, the whole church and their hiding people like that priest.

I wanted to call them and ask them if they thought the Catholics were the only ones to hide pedophiles.

thanks everyone- i just found it so interesting too at how the one guy was trying his best to appear as if the church is being PRO-ACTIVE When in fact they are being reactive

the real issue that was not dealt with was WHAT IS HOME OFFICE IN ROME doing to address this world wide issue

a few weeks back they had a show on Australia where they sent all these orphan kids to what was suppose to be new homes and instead they ended up on some big catholic farm where they had to build their own home they built the whole place kids 8,9,10 year olds during stone and brick work

and at night the kids would be raped by the priest their they were all told that their folks were dead and their folks were told that there were no records of the kids and thier whereabouts

then some person started digging and found the kids and parents many where in their 50, 60,s and thier folks were in thier 80's and 90's

so while it may be good to see the boston guys at least trying something by releasing 90 names the real deal with what about in around the world

Rome knows that in countries where there are no "Johnny Corcharns" they dont' have to worry about law suits

when you consider that the Church operates in some of the pooriest places on the earth where thier "GOOD DEEDS" will be allowed to excuse the conduct of the priest it is sad

in fact in my view it is not the Priest so much ( he is sick and needs help or shot one take your pick)
but it is the Leadership who "Knowingly" place this guy in a new area with FRESH MEAT

i mean come on if you own a chicken house and some guy was in charge who had a fox , would you allow him to move the fox from chicken house to chicken house

and that is what ROME has done

well at least they are publicly having to deal with this issue and $$$$$

the kicker is going to be WT for years jw have been very secretive about thier activities even the members know very little about the org outside of the wt study- smile--

it will be interesting to see the NONJW reaction

i could care less about the jw reactions they have been programmed for years on how to respond- if anything they will put a spin on it that the jw want--- and that is--
