Watchtower 15/3/12 "Do Not Look At The Things Behind"

There is one big reason for this. You look at things in your past, and you are bound to see better things. Those not born in will find that they remember Christmas as a time of excitement. Stress, yes, but the kind of stress that you are eager to go through. You enjoy Christmas music, lights, shopping, and the wrappings. You remember what it was like to put up the tree. Then, the morning of--and anticipating what you were going to get. Now, it's just another day of field circus.

You remember a time when you were in school. You remember going in sports, participating in field trips, and even making the cheerleading, yearbook, or class-trip crews. It wasn't perfect, but at least you remember times when your life had variety. Now, it's all field circus.

You remember vacations when you actually did something. Most remember going to Six Flags (or Disneyland). Some went to the ocean to surf, play in the arcades along the coast, or swim. Some went hiking in the mountains. Others took drives to Canada--Niagara Falls is popular. People remember the zoos, amusement parks, camping trips, and even the occasional person remembering that trip to New Zealand (where they have some of the best bungee jumping in the world), Europe, or South America. Now, it's all field circus.

No wonder they don't want people remembering.

Pay no attention to anything the WTS has said or done in the past.

    Raises too many questions...

Quendi and Wizard - all fantastic posts and so dead on the money.

The trouble is that unfortunately, a whole new generation is being sold this same tripe and told to forego college, never plan for retirement, blah, blah and it seems like they might be buying it. I really feel for the young ones being born into this religion and the crap they are being fed, similar to how we were. Same crap, different generation.

At one of the last ASSemblies we sat through, the speaker asked how many had come into the truth within the last 15 years - after the show of hands, it looked like almost 90%. I used to think this question was asked to see how many new ones were being rescued before the big A; now I realize this is probably just a question to see how many new ones there are that can be refed this malarkey. None of these people remember Stay Alive till '75 - seems like those of us who do are either already dead, or OUT (thank God!) Of course, they spin this to say that some will see the promised new system (TM) via the 'underground route'.

So, in some ways, this article is speaking to the last of the disaffected. Hopefully it wakes most of today's young ones up at the same time, who have access to the internet and can research the 'cult'. I know near the end for us, these articles seemed lame and exculpatory rather than encouraging. They tried to spin that Abraham, Moses etc. never got to see the promise but persevered anyway; pontificated about no need for retirement plans etc., but were mostly visiting and feeding off of those who had worked hard all their lives in order to have a bedroom and meals to provide for the 'travelling overseers'. What a bunch of hypocrites!
