I've heard posters say that the WT sometimes changes original publications when they reprint or add them to the CD. I guess to cover their tracks or something. Can anyone give me specific examples of this happening? Thanks for you help.

Well there was the change in the January 1, 1989 Watchtower from loose magazine to bound volume:
The apostle Paul was spearheading the Christian missionary activity. He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our 20th century."
vs.
"The apostle Paul was spearheading the Christian missionary activity. He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our day.
There was also a change in early vs. late editions (Before and after 1975) of The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life:
"Also, as reported back in 1960, a former United States Secretary of State, Dean Acheson, declared that our time is "a period of unequaled instability, unequaled violence." And he warned: "I know enough of what is going on to assure you that, in fifteen years from today, this world is going to be too dangerous to live in."

"Also, as reported back in 1960, a former United States Secretary of State, Dean Acheson, declared that our time is "a period of unequaled instability, unequaled violence." Based on what he knew was then going on in the world, it was his conclusion that soon "this world is going to be too dangerous to live in."
Well that's pretty dishonest. I can understand if they update something---it happens. But to present the bound volumes, one assumes it's simply a copy of the original. Thanks TD.

If you have access to both versions, please keep your eyes open...
I'm certain that there must be more examples...
- Theocratic War Strategy (says it's ok to lie under certain circumstances)
1957 Watchtower Bound Volume. The original volume (red edging) encouraged using the Theocratic Wat Strategy in field service. These remarks were dropped from the latest reprint of that volume (white edging). See Scans below.
- The Harp of God (book)
The 1921 edition was subtitled "Proof Conclusive That Millions Now Living Will Never Die." Later editions replaced that subtitle with "The Harmony of the Ten Primary Bible Teachings."
Thanks Scenic. I can't read the second scan. I copied it and tried to adjust the contrast and such, but still can't read it. Will it take a long time to just type out the change? If so, don't worry about it, I appreciate the effort.

The WTS would just love for us poztates to get rid of any evidence that can prove them to be false prophets

I think the change here is that everything except the "Check Your Memory" and the "Watchtower Studies For The Weeks" has been removed entirely. All we're seeing is the bleed from the other side of the page

TD has it exactly right. The upper part of the page is blank. The very light text you see is showing through from the opposite side of the page.
When the Theocratic War Stratgey remarks were dropped, they were not replaced with anything.
The CD always mirrors the last edition, so the accusation that there are changes 'to the CD' is flawed and if a JW ever challenges you to prove it, you will be in trouble.
There are embarrasing statements on the CD, so the accusation that they are altering the CD to 'hide their past' is also flawed. You should learn how to find these easily, so that you can get your JW to explain them.
If you are going to cross swords with a JW, you have to be careful to make no mistakes. Make one flawed accusation and they will use that to trash your character and excuse themselves from having to take anything you have to say seriously.
