I was a single mom of 3 for many years, so I adore the song Landslide by Stevie Nicks.

I think I want it played at my funeral & dedicated to my kids.

Landslide - written by Stevie Nicks
    - appears on Fleetwood Mac White Album (1975); Fleetwood Mac Live (1980);

Fleetwood Mac - The Chain (1992); Fleetwood Mac - The Dance (live) (1997);The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac (2002)

    Lyrics

I took my love, I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
'Till the landslide brought me down

    Oh, mirror in the sky
    What is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life

Well, I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you get bolder
    Even children get older
    And I'm getting older too

Oh, take my love, take it down
Climb a mountain and turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down

If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down.

Landslide is a great song. It is kind of amazing that Fleetwood Mac had one of the most amazing albums ever (Rumours). Even though Landslide wasn't on it, it still reminds me of the underrated greatness of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks.

About Land Slide: I was 17 when it hit the radio charts. That was 1976. "Even children get older and I'm getting older, too." I'm 54 now. I have had two children since 1976 and two grand children. My kids are 34 and 29. My grandsons are 17 and 12 soon. Stevie Nicks is a lot older. I'm older and everyone else is getting older, too.

Here is a song that moves me with goosebumps and tears, every time I hear it. Turn up your volume and give it a listen. Think of yourselves as children. Think of your children, grandchildren and all children. "Light their way, when the darkness surrounds them....Keep them safe. Keep them warm."

"Going Home" always get to me. I see it as a metaphor for passing on, "home" being whatever a person might believe about an afterlife.

It's not far, yes close by
    Through an open door
Work all done, care laid by
    Going to fear no more

    Mother's there 'specting me
    Father's waiting, too
    Lots of folk gathered there
    All the friends I knew

    All the friends I knew

    I'm going home

    Nothing lost, all's gain
    No more fret nor pain
No more stumbling on the way
No more longing for the day
    Going to roam no more
