I think we can draw a parallel with the use of the Great Pyramid measurements to add dazzle to the 1914 chronology mishmash in Russell's day.
You get two separate and distinct "proofs" to dovetail and it looks ironclad.
But, Franz was the one inventing his own chronology methods. He could have made the 6000 years of man's existence come out to any date he so chose.
IN FACT, it has ALREADY been done many years before!
Franz recycled the 6,000 years nonsense and duct-taped it onto his new chronology chart.
6,000 years from Adam’s creation, according to the chronology that Russell used, ended around October of 1872, reckoned as the beginning of 1873 (using the October to October year). According to what Russell presented, 6,000 years from Adam’s fall ended in 1874, thus allowing that Adam spent two years in the Garden of Eden before being driven out of the garden.

The WTS. in the past history has created many embellished pronouncements to attract attention to its literature, the year 1975
was also created in this same fashion.
Trying to accurately calculate dates and numbers by only using the bible as an only source, only a true moron wouldn't see a flaw
in that. Nevertheless the devoted naive and ignorant followers of the WTS. did fall for this inspired zealous corruption as they were put into trusting
fear that what was being said could impede their very existence.

I started studying in 1976. Can you believe no one mentioned 1975 to me? I had to hear about it from my Irish landlord, Mr. O'Connell...in summer of 1978. He told me that his friend had sold everything, stopped working, etc for 1975 and was very bitter when ARme didn't come. The guy had left the JW religion.
Of course when I asked about it, I was given the damage control explanation.
