    rebel, you said (quoted)

Psac,, Heard you,,, Ghandi originlly said that ... ooops!!! tks

P.S. Why don't you come and see the art - I'm sure the man you think I insulted would turn the other cheek and come.

P.P.S. You forgot to mention the other man from the former group (George Harrison) who is/was a highly religious, fervent disciple of Christ, Hari Krishna, et al.

The last time I was in MoMA I was so harried. It a weekend and the place was a zoo with overcrowding. So I am stuck on this elevator, so exhausted but I need to keep moving b/c the mseum is no longer a short trip uptown) and a blood curdling screech vocalization emerged. It sounded exactly as though a mad serial murderer was moving down museum goers with grenades and automatic weapons. Yet the staff was so calm. We were not evacted. I asked what was going on. Yoko's installation was being performed every 20 minutes. Everyone in the elevator rolled their eyes in unison - like we had to come today of all days.

John and Yoko appeared on Dick Cavett to publicize her "art" show upstate, I believe in Syracuse. It was uneblievable. Later that night and all the next morning all the progressive rock stations were saying that CBS should have given John Lennon a bill for the free commercial. He actually gave detailed driving directions from Manhattan. It was a mini Woodstock. The museum was trashed. Surrounding areas were trashed.

I can just imagine what he would about the Wall St. bailout. John was no saint or demon. He lamented the fact that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. The quote was taken so out of context. George Harrison was certain George would die b/c of the incident. John never liked crippled people. They triggered him. People started bringing crippled people from institutions to Beatles concerts. I guess for a special treat. The WHO welcomes them. John felt that he was supposed to cure them or something. Maybe the helplessness bothered him.

He had a big heart. Someone said he was a great mixture of Karl Marx and Groucho Marx. His wit was incredible. (all of them had great wit). In the end, I'd rather hear a screech than hear Linda perform. During one concert, I focused on watching her play keyboards and then the real musician. It was so funny through binoculars. Even his rivalry with Paul and George could be funny. I feel sorry for younger people who believe the Lennon machine and only know a very flat John.
