The Moral Cannibals

There are moral persons and there are cannibals.

Would you believe there are also moral cannibals?

Morality, after all, is highly regarded as the highest human value found in persons of great virtue.

But, cannibalism is universally loathed as the lowest rung of depraved behavior among primitives isolated from greater society.

Yet, moral cannibalism exits and I propose to demonstrate it here...

We all value important and beneficial things of greatness, beauty and achievement. But, none of these would be possible if we did not value LIFE.

LIFE itself affords the possibility of achievement and the appreciation of beauty.

But, what if we became convinced that DEATH was more important than life and were pressured to embrace it as a great value?

Would we then neglect Art, Education, the physical welfare of our children and become cynical of any moral behavior of others?

Sound depraved? What if it were declared MORAL to encourage DEATH as a virtue and highest value?

    Unlikely? No, it isn't.

Jehovah's Witnesses are among the moral cannibals I referenced above.

Among the tenets of their faith is the willingness to allow their own children to die. Not only that, but, to celebrate their death as a great value!

Yes, I'm speaking of the blood transfusion "principle" of obedience to Governing Body dictates. But, there is more than that to be discovered.

In the 1960's brothers and sisters of this faith in the African country of Malawi were encouraged to put themselves in harm's way to avoid having

to accept a local political party's enforcement of card carrying membership. Death, rape and severe beatings were embraced as a "value" and morally acceptable demonstration of virtue.

The leaders of Jehovah's Witnesses feed upon the flesh of these members by trumpeting their depraved behaviors as noble, worthy, faithful, obedient and praiseworthy! Parent's whose children are put in harm's way are held up as models of proper conduct! Stories are printed in the Watchtower and Awake! magazines to publicize and "feed" the flock of membership "food at the proper time."

The central message, in fact, of Armageddon is one of cannibalism. How so?

The day to day purpose (which eclipses all other duties of a faithful member) is one of "feeding" themselves, their family and their neighbors (door to door)

a steady diet of DEATH and sacrifice in order to avoid becoming an Armageddon statistic.

Gleeful cheerleading of this worldwide slaughter is, above all else, the single most important event in all human history!

Educating children is not necessary beyond making them feed on a steady diet of which kind of DEATH is okay and which is to be avoided.

(Note: dying FOR Governing Body values is: Good and dying at Armageddon is: Bad). Being dead, of course, is being dead.

If you have ever attended a Jehovah's Witness funeral the demonstration of "loss" is avoided. A restrained cheerful message of hope for the future replaces any lament for the extinction of human life.

Death, you see, is a positive!

This is a steady, unrelenting feeding on death as a MORAL enterprise!

Enemies are everywhere in the paranoid Utopia of flesh eating morality.

ALL other worshippers of God are decried as imposters. Charity is pointless and temporary. Higher Education is a waste of time. Community service

is misguided. Social services are entirely neglected even for members. Former members are given virtual armbands of Mental Defectives the way Nazis singled out Jews in Hitler's Germany.

All of this repugnant description is only possible because it is MORAL BEHAVIOR of the highest virtue and ethics in Jehovah's Witness "food at the proper time".

This is why I call them Moral Cannibals.

The Faithful and Discreet Slave is a fictional device invented to elevate this moral cannibalism to the highest heavenly VALUE.

Whoever inhabits the top leadership in Watchtower Society is the mouthpiece of Almighty God (Jehovah) with full authority to

"feed" all worldwide minds a steady diet of human flesh (faithfully sacrificed) in demonstration of their command to obedience.

Thus, it is MORAL to die and allow death...IF...the Governing Body commands it, teaches it and publishes it as a virtue.

    They do!

Wonder why the Bible has nothing to say about cannibalism, given that it is almost universally considered to be a gross sin?

    Technically, "long pig" isn't kosher.

Excuse me - I meant the Bible had nothing to say about cannibalism except for "trans-substantiation".

Well, that isn't true either. Starvation leading to cannabalism is a jeremiad subject, so there is mention.

And transubstantiation isn't understood as cannibalism anyway.

    Great Post Terry!

I often refer to the witnesses as a death cult for the very reasons you outlined. Blood and Armageddon. Though if banality could kill .............7,000,000 witnesses would have died by now.

What is so easily apparent to understand, when one looks at the images of Jonestown, is how dangerous blind allegiance can be ..... One look and a normal person reaches out to their loved ones and vows no one will ever be allowed to do that to their family. Even a JW understands how wrong Jonestown was but they recoil at the thought that their Blood doctrine kills many more people each and every year. When a person turns down a life saving procedure in favor of a half baked doctrine they put themselves, their mate, their children in their own personal Jonestown.

If there is a difference it's hard to see it except............. may be that's the difference............ we don't get to see a thousand dead JW's each year because they die needlessly in private not in a field.....but die they do.

I know I shouldn't be posting, but I just can't resist this one. I haven't been doing to well with this weaning off of JWN goal that I intended.

I don't think you can entirely fault the WT and hence JWs for their encouragement of death, because really, death is what's encouraged in the Bible, whether that be instantaneous death, or a prolonged life of drudgery with no earthly satisfaction or pleasure, hence leading to a drawn out death. Examples include, but are not limited to, God wanting Abraham to sacrifice his own son to prove his devotion. Jephtha sacrificed his daughter's life either by killing her or having her serve in the temple for her entire life depending on how you interpret the account. God demanded the Israelites provide sacrifices of animals to atone for their sins. Samson took his own life in order to kill a bunch of Phillistines translating to an honorable death in the mind of the audience the account was intended for. Job's livestock, his health, and his own daughters were sacrificed to prove his own integrity before God and Satan. Lot was willing to sacrifice his daughters so that the angels didn't get raped by the booty bandit predators in Sodom, yet on the flipside of that coin his wife was turned into a pillar of salt for not having the same amount of "go without" in her heart when she looked back at the burning cities.

The firstborn of the Egyptians were slain for the salvation of the Hebrew slaves. Herod had all the baby boys slaughtered in attempt to prevent the Messiah's coming, adding to the miraculous nature of Christ's birth and survival despite whatever Satanic forces were at work. Jesus sacrificed his life on behalf of mankind. Baruk was discouraged from seeking great things for himself, but rather should have just been happy that he was alive and healthy enough to prophecy in Jeremiah's absense on behalf of God. Joseph was sacrificed by his brothers out of jealousy for their father's affection, and he lived a life of slavery for quite some time before being rewarded for his deeds.

There's plenty more in the Scriptures, but it's kinda depressing me to even type this. When you think about it, the WT encourages giving sacrifices to the God of the Old Testament either through a physical death via the errouneous Blood doctrine, or a prolonged drudgery of servitude like Jephtha's daughter with no immediate end in sight. In my opinion this is one of those cases where the JW lifestyle, or one might call it a deathstyle, is actually scriptural and I think it says more about the Bible than it does organized religion, not that that's saying much.

It reminds me of a Geto Boys song I've always liked called, Aint With Being Broke. It has a lyric, "Without those dollar signs, it's like living and dying at the same time." That's what the drawn out life of a JW is like, living and dying at the same time, and that's what is encouraged not only by JWs, not only by the WT, but by the Bible itself.

Loving the living makes a lot of sense. The living can benefit from being nurtured.

When any creed, philosophy or religion twists LIFE into less value than DYING (for anything) it wanders off into alarming fallacious ritual performance.

We embrace death FOR a cause and celebrate the one dying.

But, RELIGION offers a big bonus of everlasting Life for such death.

This warps the transaction. DIE NOW and get EVERLASTING LIFE later. Quid pro Quo (this for that)

We have terrorists gleefully shouting "Allah Akbar!" while flying humanity into buildings for such an enterprise.

Or, JW's denying their own children necessary medical attention for Brownie points in paradise.

The only difference in these two examples is the number who die at one time.

Courage or cowardice is entirely in the eye of the beholder!

    But LIFE--what about LIFE??

Warped "values" flow from warped and irrational foundations.

Is DEATH as real as it looks? Or is it just the illusion the old King James tells us?

    We are gambling.

To do so with OUR OWN life is a risk of one's ownership.

To gamble with OTHER'S lives is hideous and malicious hubris.

One should long ponder the poetry of such transactions with such real conclusions.
