What We Do Here Can Help Save A Life!

I believe that there are a lot of "lurkers" here. Many Witnesses look at this site and try to figure out if they should stay or possibly come over here and take the plunge.

What we say, how we say it, can make a difference in somebody's life. It is why I personally avoid sensationalism in my comments. I try to think of the lurker and how he/she just might see something on this board and decide to investigate everything about the "Truth".

If there are any "lurkers" out there, please give this place a try. No one here is perfect but we're mostly all on the same page. Don't be afraid. It IS ok.

And please hurry - OBVES says that 80% of the world will end on Oct. 21st, 2011.

    Or something like that, somehow.

That's why I said we're "mostly" on the same page.

I think people need to know that checking this site out or reading different publications or voicing your thoughts is not a terrible thing to do. It is no sin!!!! JWs condition you to accept that ANY critical thinking is a sin. Well, it's not!!!!

JWs condition their so-called "christian followers" to believe that celebrating the lord's last supper is a sin...

Not filling out the YPA worksheet is no doubt a sin too.

I think that you make a very valid point minimus and the possibility of actually saving a life in the literal and concrete sense is very real because of the horrific blood policy of the WT.

I think that it would be a good thing for some of our more "militant" posters ( on all sides of the belief question) to keep that in mind.

I've received a few PM's from lurkers that get intimidated by the more "vocal" anti-god crowd at times.

I can see their point, it seems that some are trying to "convert" JW's to atheisim as much, if not more so, than those that are trying to convert them to another religion.

I recall one saying that He felt that leaving the JW's meant that it would lead to being an atheist and a "rude one at that", since that is what He saw here.

I explained that the pain caused by the WT runs deep and that one can't expect people with scars to NOT have scars, and that we must be understanding of people that are expressing their pain.

Don't know if that "clicked" but we all should be weary of being the instrument of keeping someone IN the WT.
