I'm looking for suggestions of songs that make you think about your escape from mind control. Please reply with your suggestion.

    Here's a youtube playlist I just made.

The songs I have so far are:

    • Linkin Park - Somewhere I Belong
    • Hoobastank - Crawling in the Dark
    • Five Finger Death Punch - Far From Home
    • AFI - The Leaving Song Pt. 2
    • Staind - Outside
    • Trust Company - Downfall
    • Evanescence - Bring me to life
    • POD - Alive
    • The Rasmus - In the Shadows
    • Hollywood Undead - Hear Me Now
    • A Perfect Circle - The Noose
    • My Darkest Days - Every Lie
  • ballistic

It might vary depending on if your departure was defiant, booted and lost your family or you slowly drifted, slow, slow slow, *tries to think of something by the drifters*

Welcome chosetheredpill. Great list so far. Two songs come to mind...

Killing in the Name Of - Rage Against the Machine
Fly One Time - Ben Harper

  • VampireDCLXV

One more to throw in the ring...

    Blue Rodeo - Trust Yourself

Someday soon and I don't know when
Your little world will come crashing in
    Don't think twice
    They say "I'll be around"
    Turn your back
    Someone's gonna let you down

    You know that it's true
    Nobody led you on
    They left that to you

Now you'll be alone when the sun comes up
with your tattered little dreams and a broken cup
Then you'll have to trust yourself
and don't believe in anymore lies!

I think this might be kind of appropriate too . . .

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie

    Do ya?

My United State of whatever With Lyrics

I went down to the beach and saw Kiki
    She was, like, all "ehhhh"
    And I was, like, "whatever!"

Then this chick comes up to me and she's all, like,
    "Hey, aren't you that dude?"
    And I'm, like, "yeah, whatever!"

So later I'm at the pool hall
    And this girl comes up
    And she's, like, "awww"
    And I'm, like, "yeah, whatever!"

    Cuz this is my
    United States of Whatever!
    And this is my
    United States of Whatever!
    And this is my
    United States of Whatever!

    And then it's three A.M.
And I'm on the corner, wearing my leather
This dude comes up and he's, like, "hey, punk!"
    I'm, like, "yeah, whatever!"

Then I'm throwing dice in the alley
Officer Leroy comes up and is, like,
"Hey, I thought I told you..."
    And I'm, like, "yeah, whatever!"

    And then up comes Zafo
I'm, like, "yo, Zafo. What's up?"
    He's, like, "nothin'"
    And I'm, like, "that's cool."

    Cuz this is my
    United States of Whatever!
    And this is my
    United States of Whatever!

The Lunatics (Have Taken Over The Asylum) by the Fun Boy Three.

I find this one singularly appropriate. I've even used it on my phone as the ringtone for the MS I (sort of) study with.

    Great song with powerful lyrics!

    3M :)
