Watchtower: An Authoritarian Religion

Seven million people receive 32-page magazines each month. Within these magazines are orders, written by anonymous authors, calling themselves representatives of Christ. All members are required to accept and obey these orders. It matters not if the subject matter is never once mentioned in the Bible. Members must submit to the central authority of the religion in New York, USA.

This alone, is enough for me to pronounce them to be tyrants.

Let free people be done with such madness. When you read an order from the central authority, disregard it, if it's not compatible with your Bible-trained conscience or your personal values.

I agree except for the "Bible trained conscience" part of it.

I think there is just conscience that is simply gut instinct inhanced by the norms of society.

BTC, in my opinion, made us paranoid of others and trying new things.

I'm busy getting rid of it, but it's taking a while.
