LouBelle,, it's a hard thing,,, watched my friend die the same way in 2008/09, only he insisted on surgery,,, his poor little body was a road map and litany of missing organs. Finally, after it went to the bladder, came the last days. He, too, fought to the very end.
I'm thinking of you and your uncle, so far away in kms, but close to our hearts ....
And yes, it's so important to tell people you love them ... you never know what's coming.
