Before I graduated to DC I used to buy Whizzer and Chips , Monster Fun ,Beano, Dandy ,Eagle. They tended to be printed on low quality paper with jagged edges like newspapers .Every year there would be an annual hardbound edition around christmas time.
I never really got into Marvel comics . You were either DC or Marvel and stick loyally to one or the other !

a few years ago, some friends of mine had a problem with comics. seems one guy had lent some Spawn comics to his married friend. the guys are both huge comic readers and otherwise very nice, smart young guys. well it seems the wife started complaining of, you guessed it, weird feelings in the house. the feelings didnt go away until the comics were removed and my friends had learned their lesson and no longer enjoyed todd mcfarlanes excellent work.
