disfellowshipped at age 12? What could a 12-year-old do that warrants that? One of the worst things about JWs is the way they treat their children. It's terrible.

You are going a bit over the top with the statements. Fear and guilt are used to separate the kids from the families. There are no actual rules or requirements that enforce what you have stated.

Even the new Elder's manual has deleted associating with DF & DA family members as a sackable offence.

The parents and grandparents take it upon themselves to shun their offspring ......... on the advice of the WT.

Cutting off from the Christian congregation does not involve immediate death, so family ties continue. Thus, a man who is disfellowshipped or who disassociates himself may still live at home with his Christian wife and faithful children. Respect for God's judgments and the congregation's action will move the wife and children to recognize that by his course, he altered the spiritual bond that existed between them. Yet, since his being disfellowshipped does not end their blood ties or marriage relationship, normal family affections and dealings can continue.

The situation is different if the disfellowshipped or disassociated one is a relative living outside the immediate family circle and home. It might be possible to have almost no contact at all with the relative.

This is the kind of talk they use a lot.

The hierachy let themselves off the hook by leaving it up to the individual using language that doesn't appear extreme to a worldly with no idea of how cults use mind control to create extreme pressure in the minds of the followers.

It works so well that many members and ex-members see 'advice' as rules until an ex makes a statement, at which point the JW switches into defence mode and trashes the ex's character for making a statement that is not actually supported by the grammar of the articles he was thinking of at the time.

I personally knew the first one that was baptized at age 6.

She became a missionary and later married one.

They were in our Spanish hall.

the WT needs to be shut down.

    I hate them.
