I really wish scotch wasn't so expensive here. Oban is like $120 a bottle which is quite prohibitive. I have a vacation to save for!! lol

Every so often I'll fork out the $60 or $70 it costs for a decent scotch but when I can't, I'll drink spiced rum straight up. I like that better than settling for cheap blends...

Sorry I am a gin drinker. I drink gin and ginger ale. I can't have tonic water with gin because of the medicine I take for blood sugar. I do like rum though. Totally ADD

I always think of woodford reserve and makers mark as bourbon first and whisky second...

Rum is good but whiskey is my prefrerred choice.

Must be a single malt though - none of that blended stuff.

And must not be mixed with water either.

Some good suggestions above - Auchentoshan is a fav, also Laphroig.

I enjoy a variety of whiskies. Every year at Christmas I buy myself a little bottle of Dimples. I enjoy Glen Fiddich, Johnny, Jack.....so many. Delish on the rocks.

Scotch drinker here, Bowmore is one of my favs

    Bowmore is great.

With Rums, I prefer Venezuelan dark rums, like Pampero Anniversario or Diplomatico.

Santa Teresa Gran Reserva and Cacique are good too.
