Are Witnesses encouraged to talk about their non-JW mates?

    Ah, now that makes a lot of sense, LG. The timing of the visit and the Kingdom Ministry advice is about right. The visit from the elder was after we had been invited to dinner at his place some several months earlier, which I accepted to please my wife. There were 8 people at the table and I was the only non-believer. After the blessing (in which I of course did not partake) there wasn't much Kingdom talk when I was within earshot, which was undoubtedly for my benefit, but I still didn't fit in. I informed my wife after learning that her nephew was DF'ed and shunned that I would no longer accept any invitation for any social gathering of Jehovah's Witnesses - unless she didn't mind if I felt free to speak my mind. We have since politely turned down anniversary celebrations, dinners and dances from people in her present and past congregations.
