    Wow! Thats a good one.

Similar to their "pagan roots" theory, the WT should not be using such a word!

Sylvia, I just posted on Terry's thread about questions to ask the GB. I suggested a seminar, then read your thread, and went back and changed it to symposium....thanks for giving me a better word, Ms. Wordstar :-)

Wow... I wish I had known that all those years I went to the District Convention. Instead of packing a PB&J sandwich in my cooler, I coulda brought a six-pack for the symposiums...

    Tee hee hee @ JO.

Evidently, all sorts of debauchery went on at symposia: Drunkeness, gluttony, lewd acts, etc.

The above is a picture of a slave attending a vomiting symposiast.

He had a little too much of something.

    LOL.

Interesting. I thought symposium originally meant "longest hour".

I remember how pompous it all sounded.

Strangely, I can't recall anything that was discussed.

The last few DCs and CA's I went to had these weird symposiums where each dude only got like 10 minutes to talk, and there were like six, seven, eight parts!

Felt like they were trying to speed it up somehow, but it still lasted an eternity.

It got kind of interesting when one would try to hog all the time for himself.
