Share in the glorious treasure of giving the final witness now, that you may feed on the fruits of victory. The time is short—even Satan knows that! (Rev. 12:12) The time will not drag if spent in zealous work. Why, the Bible says that “Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her”. And when the time lengthened beyond his expectations, it still passed quickly. (Gen. 29:20, 27, 28) Because of the love we have for God and his King and the Kingdom work the time separating us from Armageddon will seem as a fast stream of pleasant days. When those days are past the history of the final witness will be recorded, and that is a history that will not repeat itself. (Nah. 1:9; Matt. 24:21) This old world has been weighed in the balances and found wanting, its days are numbered, its hours are numbered, as God knows its final hour. (Matt. 24:36) Our hours for gospel-preaching are numbered with it. The Devil uses the short time remaining as a wild, raging, roaring lion seeking to prove his challenge; we should use our time as zealously for good as he uses his for evil. Gone will be the time for proving him a liar and sharing in the final witness when the great clock of God strikes and booms out the fateful hour of Armageddon! Share in the final witness now or never!

crikey! A 20 year old heading that 'timely' warning in 1950 would be 81 now... wonder if he would still feel like it was all 'a fast stream of pleasant days'?

Why do so many old timers in the Borg still believe the same shit?

Because every day is one day closer to the end!

Isn't it grand when you hate the world and life in it so much that all you live for is seeing its destruction?

Maybe it's hours are numbered . . . but there have been 534,360+ hours since that was published . . . still counting.

Final witless? Anyone investing their time in doing that would have wasted a good 60 years, and have nothing to show for it. They would have maybe gotten a few into the cancer, most likely during the part of the 1980s when it was almost a fad to become a witless. But they wouldn't have even made a dent in the territory, and they would have earned nothing. Nor would they be any better off.

To compare: Suppose someone invested the same amount of time and money into silver instead. Back in 1950, it was going for roughly $1 per ounce. And they could have earned quite a few ounces of silver by doing this. By my calculation, it would have amounted to roughly 12 ounces of silver per week just for time wasted, plus another 12 or more for expenses. Assuming 25 ounces of silver per week, you are looking at 78,000 ounces of silver (that is 156 monster boxes) by the end of 60 years. Now, once the banks are through fxxxing around with margin requirements, the recent crash is going to be a distant memory and we will be on our way to $6,000 silver. That is $468,000,000 in money that is not going to be eaten up when hyperinflation strikes.

Now, which would you rather have? The thrill of having wasted your whole life out in field circus and accomplishing nothing, or an extra $468,000,000 in an inflation-proof retirement account? And, if you pio-sneer or end up becoming a hounder, those numbers go up even higher.

Exactly. Cool isn't it? Only "apostates" ever know about stuff like this. A JW still in after 1975 is probably braindead and never going anywhere, no matter what. It won't be long before that articles is "old light" and JWs won't be permitted to read it, because it'll be labelled apostate literature, like all the other stuff that isn't on the CD-ROM. Even if a JW encounters excerpts compiled from the CD-ROM, if they reflect poorly on the organization, they'll be considered apostate literature. Same goes for a list of scriptures that damn the Society. I should work on a paper that is nothing but Watchtower excerpts juxtaposed with scriptures, with absolutely no commentary. I'll bet it would be considered apostate literature, only containing Watchtowers and Bible verses.
