More details of the bible students blending into Rutherford's empire

  Rutherford, had he been a political leader instead of a religious despot, would have given Hitler a run for his money. There were parallels. Hitler was able to shift blame for German's plight onto sell-outs and Jews and build up the ego of Germany by declaring "true" Germans to be a "master race". Rutherford shifted the blame for the world's woes onto feckless Christendom and corrupt political leadership. Bible students (eventually Jehovah's Witnesses) became a religious "master race" fighting Satan's dominion with bold argumentation and expose's.

  Good parable Terry and explains mostly the infused arrogance thats exist in JWS today ( the master race ).

  Let's look at the score thus far.

  Russell gave us:

  Dispensational charts of a Divine Plan which are no longer used by the Society.

  Pyramid calculations used to verify 1914 no longer used by the Society.

  Independent congregations autonomously run at the local level. (Opposite of today.)

  Repeated assurances that Armageddon would end governments and churches and the rapture would come in 1914; "god's dates, not ours."

  Rutherford gave us:

  Assurance that Russell was running the Watchtower from heaven.

  Rabid polemic writings against patriotism, religion, government, holidays, standard christian doctrine and radical preaching practices.

  Sole command of the Watchtower Corporation with a puppet committee who rubber stamped his ideas.

  Predictions that 1925 would bring the resurrection of ancient men of faith who would live in a mansion in San Diego!

  Constant admonition to members to get in the face of others decrying any belief but their own.

  So, how can anybody say this religion is a cult when the first two leaders brought so much sanity to its theology???
