i remember skimming through a thread a while back that seemed to be some of your favorite songs and i thought i'd share one that has recently touched me.. its called 'I refuse to be lonely'...

    I cant hold you
    like i want to
cant hold you to the promises you made
    you wont be here tonight
    or any other night
it would be a lie to say i'm not afriad
but to be afraid is something that i've always been
the difference is this time i'm not giving in

    yes, i am alone
    yes, i'm on my own
but for the first time in my life i'm gonna carry on
    yes, i'm gonna ache
    but i will not break
    some things i can choose
and baby, i refuse to be lonely

    to be lonely

    i cant change you
    i cant blame you
and this time i'm not even gonna try
you do what you have to do
i'll do the same thing too
you've got a right to say goodbye
but i've got a right to take care of myself
i've realized that i come first
    before anyone else

    yes i am alone
    yes i'm on my own
but for the first time in my life i'm gonna carry on
    yes i'm gonna ache
    but i will not break

somethings i can choose and baby
    i refuse to be lonely

lonely is a place i used to be
    but i'm closing the door
    i wont live there anymore

    yes i am alone
    yes i'm on my own
but for the first time in my life i'm gonna carry on
    yes i'm gonna ache
    but i will not break

    some things i can choose
and baby, i refuse to be lonely

    to be lonely.

    to be lonely..

maybe this is dumb to post but if you heard it sung you would be touched too.

ps. this was sung by Phyliss Hyman who went on to end her own life shortly after this hit song.

    I Refuse To Be Lonely--a GEM!, February 26, 2000
Reviewer: Roger A. Sneed from Nashville,TN
What can be said of Phyllis Hyman? Her music is extraordinary, moody, rich, expressive. "I Refuse To Be Lonely" is perhaps one of the best examples of Hyman's powerful voice. It also is one of the best examples of her ability to infuse each lyric with her emotions. As a result, one hears the depth of her sadness, her desire to experience joy in her life. The title track is a commentary on Hyman's desire to transcend her pain, while the final track "Give Me One Good Reason To Stay" is a powerful testimony, a postscript to her troubled life. Five years after her suicide, we still have yet to discover the beauty of her voice and the strength of her lyrical abilities.

Daniel 11:35 ... a KEY prophecy that must be fulfilled before the "time of the end" gets underway.

Sorry Marilyn, I didnt mean to make you feel bad.

Its just when I listen to this song I can soo feel her pain because I've had that intesely lonely feeling my whole life.

I guess its dumb to listen to this kind of music but when I start feeling bad I'm drawn to it.

Maybe I ought to try reverse psychology on myself...where is that nsync cd anyway..lol.

    Dear Lonely,
This is my first time on the line. I can relate with your feelings. I have always had a deep sadness,as if a river that runs through my very soul. My sadness has broken me and brought me to my knees several with 4 hospitalizations. You have to surround yourself with loving people, that understand. United we stand, divided we fall. Thanks for sharing your song.

    Welcome to the board Pamela,

I'm sorry to hear that you know what this song is really about. I think most people think its about breaking up with a boyfriend.

I hope things are going well for you now and that you are able to 'close that door and not live there anymore'. I am getting there since I've started getting to know the real God.

Take care and if you ever need to chat give me a holler.

    Flower,

The song strikes me as a mirror to your soul -- at least what you've bared of it here at JWD. It was very touching, and I hope you find real, unconditional love in your life from others than from your son.

Flower; Pamela ;SMILE!!!!!!You've got us misfits now!!!!!
i recently got a little tip from a doctor female friend... she tells her patients to sometimes go and make a tape of songs.
    1. you start the tape with some really heart wrending tracks
    2. you progress through the tape ,and with each song you try to lift the mood by a few percent
    3. the last half of the tape should be feel good music
    4. the very last track should have you jumping around the house1
THE POINT OF ALL THIS IS THAT AT THE START OF THE TAPE YOU'RE ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR MOOD ,BIT YOUR MOOD WILL LIFT A LITTLE WITH EACH TRACK AND IF YOU PLAY IT ENOUGH THE MOOD RISE WILL BE QUICKER EACH TIME AND IT DOES WORK! Give it a try xxx

    Pamela,

Don't know how long you've been lurking, if at all, but welcome, welcome, welcome.

People here are very good at surrounding one another with love. (REALLY!) When the chips are down, there are many good hearts here -- despite the flame wars!

I look forward to getting to know you better by your posts.

Ok Termite..i'll try it. Is this a little better? I'm in a better mood today..hope it shows. This is one of my all time favorite love songs..."meet me on the moon"

    meet me on the moon
    soon as you can
in the middle of the sky
    you and i

    riding on a cloud
    soft as you please
we can sail upon the breeze
to the everlasting moment of love

    oh i feel your symphony
    so strong and so pure
    it echos all through me
    i am so sure
that we were meant to be here
    sharing this love
    we share

    meet me on the moon
    oh please dont be late
you know how i hate to wait
    cause you're so great

    flying to my love
    thats what i need
so my spirit can be free
in the everlasting moment of love

    oh i feel your symphony
    so strong and so pure
    it echos all through me
    i am so sure
that we were meant to be here
    sharing this love we share

    you be my love
    and i'll be yours too
as long as the sun warms the heavens

tell me you'll be my love
    oh heres what we'll do
we'll skywrite our love through the heavens

    the echos of joy
    will sing through our lives
    forever

    meet me
    meet me on the moon

ps. also sung by phyllis hyman..man she was good. i miss her lots.
