In english edition NWT we read:
Luke 12:42 And the Lord said: “Who really is the faithful steward, the discreet one, whom his master will appoint over his body of attendants to keep giving them their measure of food supplies at the proper time?
But in russian edition we read:
" uprawlajuszcij" - http://www.watchtower.org/u/bible/lu/chapter_012.htm
This word means "manager; supervisor".
Who so much difference between these two versions?
I think the more accurate translation, to convey the true meaning of this biblical text, would be 'elder' or even 'pioneer.'
I'm surprised they don't translate it, "Who is the faithful and discreet Governing Body, which his master will appoint over his organization to keep giving his baptized publishers their measure of food supplies at the proper time?..."
Interesting question.
Of course the Russian NWT is a translation of the English NWT. Maybe the one doing the translating thought is sounded more appropriate.
