Christmas Cards and Secret Santa

Perhaps this is a bit premature but I recall last year Blondie heading up the Christmas Card exchange and Lady Lee was in charge of the Secret Santa. Is that going to happen again this year?

I volunteered to do the Secret Santa thing if no one else comes forward in the next few days, and Nugget volunteered to help with it too. I don't mind doing it, but I don't want to step on Lady Lee's toes, and I certainly wouldn't mind handing it off to someone else if they want to do it. I trust you Gary.

Well, what do you need to do? Get everyone's names and addresses, then mix and match, and send your match-up out?

If anyone feels funny about giving their address out, hire a PO box to use.

I use a PO box for any internet interactions, such as buying off ebay, xmas cards from other posters, etc.

If you want to participate then you PM your name and address to the organizer.

Whoever organizes this just gathers the names and addresses of those who want to participate. They pull names out of a hat and match up Secret Santas with the gift receivers. When you PM the name of the person and their address to SS make sure you give their online name here so they know who they are sending to

Then on a second thread a Wish List, people give ideas of what they like - favorite colors, types of gifts (always under $15.00 US) such as candles, a book or music, ornaments seem to be popular, trinkets from where you live especially if the person you are sending to is in another country, etc. If you have allergies make sure people know that.

When you mail your package make sure you leave enough time for it to arrive before Christmas. Its hard waiting for something that doesn't arrive on time. Worse still waiting for a gift that doesn't arrive at all so please if you want to participate make sure you send your package. Someone will be waiting for it. Also in your package you can tell the giftee who you are on the board. That way they know who to thank Also let people know if it is something they should wait to open or can open when they get it.

If you don't want anyone to have your name and address then better wait for another year.
