    The JW elders have a remarkable amount of power bestowed upon them by the WTBTS and the members of their congregation; far more than you would ever imagine until the day you cross one of them!

    They are expert liars and can twist anything to their advantage. They are respected by most authorities as honest and upright, so anything you have to say is wrong and they are right.

    Anyone who thinks they are of no account; look out and be very careful.

    They are in fact no better than a 'street gang' in disguise!

    The KGB and the Stasi are mere kittens in comparison!

    I know from very bitter experience!

    The Elders only have as much power as you are willing to give them. I say don't give them any. Here are 2 basic questions we all have to answer to in life:

    1) Am I breaking any laws?

    2) Am I hurting anyone?

    If you can answer 'No' to both those questions, then anyone trying to push you around is out of line and should be told in no uncertain terms to shove off.

    elder = priest

    circuit overseer = bishop

    district overseer = archbishop

    zone overseer = cardinal

    governing body = pope

    Hmmm. Why aren't "circuit overseers" called "bishops"? Isn't the latter the name of the office? Same with priest and deacon?
