I don't think they would understand it here. "Kool Aid" is an Americanism referring to Jonestown, no? Wasn't Bill O'Reilly the one who made it popular? I don't think he has all that large a following in the UK.

Maybe you Brits need to petition to have the BBC show a documentary about Jonestown. And show a doc about the jws right afterwards. No one needs to not know what a cult can do. People live in agony and die all over this world drinking the JW kool aid.
