How do these people receive guidance from God??

    God knows [8>]

Jehovah’s Witnesses teach and believe that there are two classes of people slated for salvation, a heavenly class (consisting of 144,000 ‘anointed ones’ referred to as ‘the anointed’, ‘heavenly class’, ‘brothers of the king’, and other designations from time to time.) and an earthly class (referred to as: ‘the other sheep’, ‘the great crowd’, ‘earthly class’, etc.) The ‘governing body’ is taken from members of the former class.

Jehovah’s Witnesses contend that the reference to a ‘faithful steward’ or “faithful and discreet slave” found at Matthew 24:45 refers to the “…the entire anointed Christian congregation… dispensing such truths. At the same time the individual members making up such composite body, or the ‘domestics’ making up the ‘house’ of God (Mt 24:45; Heb 3:6; Eph 2:19), would also be recipients of the ‘food’ dispensed.” –Insight book, Vol 1 Page 806. What this is saying is that the entire number of those ‘anointed’ that remain on earth (‘the remnant’) at any given time are the ‘faithful and discreet slave’.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are taught and must believe that: “All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the “greatly diversified wisdom of God” can become known only through Jehovah’s channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave.—John 6:68.” Watchtower 1984, 10/1 p. 8

Now, here’s the kicker. They are told: “This faithful slave class has been appointed to provide God’s people with spiritual ‘food at the proper time.’ In this time of the end, Christ has appointed this slave ‘over all his belongings.’ Its position therefore merits the respect of anyone claiming to be a Christian.” HOWEVER, that statement would mean that ALL the anointed (women too!) would have a say in what is believed and how the ‘congregation of God’ is administered. In order to keep the power in the hands of only a selected few, the following reasoning is presented:

The purpose of headship is to preserve unity and ensure that “all things take place decently and by arrangement.” (1 Corinthians 14:40) To achieve this in the first century, a number of anointed Christians from the faithful and discreet slave class were chosen to represent the entire group. As subsequent events proved, the supervision exercised by this first-century governing body had Jehovah’s approval and blessing. First-century Christians gladly accepted the arrangement. Yes, they actually welcomed and were grateful for the fine results it produced.—Acts 15:1-32.—Same WT as quoted previously.
So there you have it. While the anointed ‘remnant’ (those of the 144,000 left alive here on earth) are, as a group, the ‘faithful slave’ they have no more say so than the lowly, non-anointed, ‘other sheep’ (those with an earthly hope) about anything that happens or what is to be believed and taught. They, through whom God’s holy spirit flows and instructs must, like the ‘other sheep’ (who have no such enlightenment ) wait for the ‘governing body’ to tell them what God’s spirit is revealing to them!

    DITTO!
I always thought this to be incredible!!! How the "governing body" could appoint abunch of drunkin' elders to repremend(no spell ck.) an anointed sister in the congergation for not being able to continue living a lie! And shun her for years!!!! It seems to me that they would be putting themselves dierectly in the line of fire! Shunning Crist's bride? And when was the anointed suppose to get in line according to whats between thier legs? But i'm just plmkrzy...so they say
    whatever

Yes, it is incredible. Back then, though, when we were not allowed to think...it made sense.

    The numbers partaking are increasing.

Maybe some, who found their reasoning ability stolen by the literature, didn't partake.
    Maybe some feared retribution.
Maybe some were secretly convinced that the groundless date, 1935, must be accurate.

The fact is that the numbers are increasing and recent years has shed light on that fact, as more become enboldened. The numbers might have increased faster, had not many become disillusioned and abandoned the sinking "ark".

Whilst the Wt & g continue to re-hash the same old, same old, many others claim to receive insight - at the same time. With the advent of the WWW, many gather together to discuss these insights, which previously would have been impractical.
It seems the GB may have been left in the dust and may be jealous of the 11th hour workers. Has their oil run out, like foolish virgins?
Have they proved to be more like the "evil slave" that Matthew continues to write about in chapters 24 and 25 of his gospel?

The argument for imposing 1st century authority stands upon the gifts of "Apostles". Strange that the authority should be claimed, whilst the source of the assigning (the Holy Spirit) should be claimed to have ceased operation in that way.

I wouldn't be so dogmatic as to apply this, in this instance, but have you ever heard of the saying:
"The lunatics are running the assylum"?

I can remember when I would have a complaint(as a child)about something that didn't make since to me regarding who is
really making the decissions about whats right and whats
wrong according to Gods laws. My mom would say, "It'll all
    come out in the wash"

Actually if you read and research using the WT CD about Anointed, Called, letters of insight, and other references to that effect you will figure it out.

The Anointed were to write their letters of insight into the headquarters and then it was discussed and what they thought was apropoe they published. That GB has been failing to publish what has been given them! Those of the Anointed have discovered the WWW to be where those insights can be discussed openly and fully. Yes I have to agree with Little Toe on this one.

Well, there is how those "insights" really come about folks. Now with the WWW those with the gift of insight can meet and publish what it is they are knowing. And those insights get to the people that are looking and not into an archive ,,,, somewhere,,,,

    ASK yourselves this;
Would Your loving Father really leave you with out His means of guidence if there werent these provisions THROUGH His Anointed?
They are to judge! NOT ELDERS!
They are to teach you what is being made known!
It is the Anointed that are to MEET TOGETHER, and others may join!
The Anointed are to apoint others with in those meetings to help.

Isn't it time to really DO what the bible teaches? Not just render it mere lip service?

I noticed that one of the people mentioned was Guy Pierce. Wasn't he in that film "Memento?"

P.S. True movies fans will get the joke.
