the source for this could be explained by the following "The Branch has arranged for each convention, assembly, and special assembly day to be recorded by the sound department and sent to the local congregations. A locally appointed elder will be responsible for making the recording available to those unable to attend their assigned event and check the program out to them. Check with your coordinator for details." this is from an e-mail yahoo group of witnesses. Seems like they read the comments possibly here saw how goofy they were and decided to look like heroes instead of dofus's.

    'Remain Close to Jehovah' Convention

    Published On:Wednesday, July 07, 2010

IN A world of conflicting attitudes about God, how can persons withstand attacks on their belief in God? What evidence about God's existence is there for non-believers to examine? Intriguing answers to these questions will be explored during the three-day "Remain Close to Jehovah" District Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses which begins Friday, July 9 at the Wyndham Nassau Resort, Cable Beach.

An estimated 3,000 persons are expected to attend.

While commenting on the convention's theme "Remain Close to Jehovah," a spokesman said "Jehovah's Witnesses believe that a strong relationship with God is vital for our spiritual well-being and personal happiness."

The theme is based on several passages of The Bible, including Joshua 23:8, Psalm 73:28, Proverbs 3:32 and James 4:8.

For the three weeks preceding the convention, Jehovah's Witnesses from the 28 local congregations located in New Providence, Grand Bahama and the Family Islands have been engaged in a campaign to advertise the convention, distributing attractively printed invitations to persons in their local communities.

The convention's program will be presented as encouragement for those who already believe in God and wish to deepen their spirituality, stated the convention spokesman. However, the program will also feature parts that respectfully examine different attitudes non-believers have toward God and misconceptions that hinder many from developing an intimate friendship with God.

" The Witnesses believe that a careful reading of Bible passages can reveal much about God's personality and how humans can draw close to a God they cannot see,"the spokesman added.

Sessions will begin each morning with a musical program at 9.20.

The Friday morning opening session will feature the keynote address, "How Jehovah Draws Close To Us." On Friday afternoon much of the program will focus on how family members can enhance their communication with one another based on their individual relationships with God. The session will conclude by focusing on why faith in God must be built on fact and reason, taking a closer look at evidence supporting what is stated in the Bible at Romans 1:20.

Saturday's program will feature positive steps one can take to protect their spirituality and relationship with God. This point will be especially emphasised on Saturday morning, when local residents who have studied these and other Bible topics in detail, will publicly symbolise their personal dedication to God during a baptism ceremony. This ordination of new ministers will include a discussion based on Galatians 4:9.

On Sunday morning, a fast-moving series of talks will provide a fresh examination of eight aspects of God's appealing personality as revealed in the Holy Scriptures.

The public discourse entitled "How Can You Draw Close to God? to which members of the public are especially invited to attend and hear, will address several questions including: Does God Exist? If so, has He communicated with mankind and by what means?

A special feature on Sunday afternoon will be a full-costume Bible-based drama, set in the first century. It is about the flight of Christians from Jerusalem and is entitled Walk by Faith and Not by Sight. The drama's focus is in God's desire to deliver those close to Him when He brings an end to wickedness on earth.

Jehovah's Witnesses extend an invitation to all interested persons to attend. Admission is free and no collections will be taken.

Okay.....how about talk number 11 (Never become enraged against Jah)

A DANGER TO OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JEHOVAH

Not one of us wants to fight against Jehovah, as that would be futile
A poet once said: "Your arm's too short to box with God"
    We want Almighty God to be our Friend, not our enemy (Ro 8:7;
    Jas 2:23; 4:4)
Proverbs 19:3 highlights a danger that could affect our relationship
    with Jehovah [Read]
Imperfect tendencies can distort our thinking and emotions
