George Best and Duncan Edwards rank quite high, as do Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas, the great Johan Cruyff has to rank high as does Gerd Muller and Franz Beckenbauer (The Kaiser)

In terms of single handedly changing a match, it woudl be either Pele or Maradonna.

Considering how much the game had already chaged from Pele's tiem to Diegos, I TEND to go with Maradona, but it is a tough one.

I think the best way to look at it is in terms of best playmaker, best goal scorer, most Valuable to their team and most able to change the tide of the game.

The only *great* *football* players that I ever heard of is Pele and Beckham. I don't know though?? I did'nt watch either of them play.

I've heard and read stuff about Pele.

My husband thinks he's the greatest.

He said when Pele used to come to the stadium in Jamaica to play, the entire country would shut down.

He said Lloyd's of London insured each of his limbs for so many millions each!
