Do it.
I TRIPLE dog dare you.
As Qui-Gon Jinn once said, "I'll take that bet." TRIPLE dog dare it is! But it's not till the end of July, so I've got a bit of a wait before I can do it. I'll be sure to identify my thread as "TRIPLE DOG DARE ACCOMPLISHED--SEE PHOTOS FOR PROOF!" I suppose I could do video--now that would be classic! But...who knows? I could chicken out at the last minute or end up having to do something for wife or just have to leave to vomit my guts out by the end of the day...
What I like about the whole adding 20 years to the history is that they're forced to assume every prophet involved--whether it's Daniel or in this case, Jeremiah--lives to an extremely old age, like 90. Is it plausible to think that all of them reached 90? 70 might be a more reasonable scenario, especially given that they're supposed to be writing this stuff down, and there was no health care, so poor eyesight and arthritis would've made that kind of a problem, which forces at least the possibility of someone else writing it down for them. Perhaps we should assume that particular someone else was inspired? Was it Baruch, who was 'evidently' in his 70s or maybe even in his 100s if he was older than Jeremiah, who wrote it? "The Bible does not say. But we can be sure that God directed a qualified individual to record the necessary details if it was not Jeremiah himself." Yesssss!
