I'm afraid you folks who are starting new ex-FB groups...

are forcing the JW's to quit using Facebook. I absolutely understand why you are doing it....but personally, groups that blatently criticize the JW's have caused the ones closest to me to quit using FB. That was one of my last outlets to associate with them, and then they quit FB altogether. Because of the blatent hate towards the "organization", many hardcore jw's feel like FB is Satan's latest threat. Then again, if you cunningly use thought-provoking questions....they will announce how 'apostates' are using such sneaky ways to get into our loved ones into the world.

Its very frusterating. I think you people who are starting these groups are awesome & I am actually friends with a couple of you on FB . I wonder if you have more people to get out of the Jw's, or if you're just livin' your life, making it known how you feel.

Anyway, just thought I'd state how I feel.... I hate that jw's are a cult. But I also hate that they are going to start announcing at conventions that internet sites such as facebook are dangerous. ....just my lil 2 cents

Oh they've already started announcing that long ago. I'm amazed my jw family on fb are still on it but on the other hand I'm not.

My family have not taken any notice of the society they are still on fb and I am sure there are many like them. Some who are taking notice following borg instructions will probably take notice for a while then go back on. It will get harder for the borg to control people with the internet in this modern age, especially the young ones.

Not everybody who wakes up to the fact that a cult has ripped off the best part of their life is going to be nice to the people they feel are the perpetrators, especially when they are abused for following their consciences and telling them the truth.

Me.... I have an account, but seldom log in and never post anything.

By defining "the world" as EVERYTHING NON-JW, the Borg has set itself up as the ONLY GOOD association and the ONLY GOOD source of information that exists for a Dub. "Friendship with the world is enmity with God," the Bible says and certainly we wouldn't want to become enemies of God, would we friends?

While many Dubs use their own conscience for a time, when the Borg gets specific and mentions certain things by name: Facebook, R-rated movies, Avatar, etc. many Dubs fall in line out of FEAR of becoming an enemy of God.

    FEAR is the great manipulator.

I think the "get off facebook" must be a regional thing, other than a mention of facebook (lumped in with other things) as a time waster at my district convention, there was no counsel about getting off of it.

We had a bethel speaker at a circuit assembly probably over 5 years ago make the statement:

"MySpace is not a place for Christians!"
