I think it's a little dorky, I mean the outcomes are usually retarded and it's usually actually pretty simple to figure out who would win. The reason that warriors upgrade is because they will win. So if you have a warrior from the 1500's vs one from the 1600's well duh the one from the 1600's would win otherwise they wouldn't have changed to upgrade.
Ie who wins knight or pirate... Duh the pirate wins! Otherwise you would have seen a bunch'a aholes in armor running around on boats you didn't so clearly the knight was a bad choice. I dunno it seems pretty simple to me.
I thought the shaolin was the poorest choice ever that kung fu shit looks cool but it's USELESS in actual combat. Ask the boxer rebellion how well that crap works. It's jumping around made for TV garbage it would get you killed in a real fight.
