    Russell's "Pyramid Chronology" & Rutherford's "Beth-Sarim". From a WT apologist standpoint.

"In time, a direct contribution was made for the purpose of constructing a house in San Diego for Brother Rutherford's use . It was not built at the expense of the Watch Tower Society. Concerning this property, the 1939 book Salvation stated: `At San Diego, California, there is a small piece of land, on which, in the year 1929, there was built a house, which is called and known as Beth-Sarim.'"

What a pile of lying bullshit even the name of the house tells the tale of why the house was built,

Rutherford predicted the return of the ancient worthy ones for the year 1925 in one of his publishings.

If he was so humble and austere of a man and wanted to show himself as a role model for the rest of the flock

he would have reject living in such luxury surroundings, he also would have also not owned two very expensive Cadillacs,

right when everyone else was right in the middle of the great depression.

Rutherford was nothing but a charlatan con man who exploited people fears and insecurities to his own benefit.

A crooked opportunistic power seeking lawyer that grab at the power and money of the Watchtower Corporation and ran with

for all its worth. His unrelenting scam unfortunately still exists today.

also it brings the question: why did he feel the need to justify his actions by writing a book about it?

I guess he too thought himself as one of those special worthy princes....cough... cough.... barf

When the home was built and J.R. lived in it you bet they didn't let any of the flock know about.

J.R. was a conniving manipulative crook but he wasn't an imbecile or stupid.

"(T)he 1939 book Salvation stated: `At San Diego, California, there is a small piece of land, on which, in the year 1929, there was built a house, which is called and known as Beth-Sarim.'"

The "small piece of land" was about 100 acres (4,356,000 square feet), and the house offered about 5,100 square feet of living space.

How many square feet does the average Bethelite get? 1,000? less?
