I am working on my art. I am teaching myself oil painting. I may never be able to surpass the masters, but if I don't at least try to learn from them, how will I ever know what I can accomplish creatively? At least my progress so far is encouraging enough to me to continue pursuing my short term goals.
Thank you, Dave, for telling us about your oil painting. It's a wonderful medium for artistic expression (I know!).
Stay with it, as, of course, you have already stated that you will!

Oils annoy the hell out of me. Yeah, they look great but they're such a bitch to maintain and clean.
I've been getting back into acrylics... think I may be onto something...
I will never have Fee Waybill's voice, but I can record anyways:
I compose music on the side for theatrical performance, independant films, commercials, podcasts and such.
It is very fulfilling. I use to be a portrait artist but I got very tired of that.

I am sad to say, No.
I've had writers block for a year... though it probably moved from writer's block into fear without me noticing. I need to stop making excuses and I need to start writing again, even if I write crap for a while.
I'm just having trouble with 'knowing what I have to do' and 'actually doing it'.
