    Actually 'g' is quite real and those who perform well on standardized IQ tests outperform others because of this in every realm except the physical.

    Few people realize that the SAT's, LSAT's, GRE's, MAT's correlate positively with IQ and moreover an IQ test is the cheapest and quickest way to vet people for further training. The only thing which measures better is actual observed performance.

    My husband and I took one of these "seven kinds of intelligences" tests and we found we have opposite kinds of intelligence.

    It makes me wonder if we're attracted to (in various ways) people who are different than we are to either fill in the gaps for us, or to make us feel smarter because we're smarter than they are in some ways?
