Catholic Leaders Publicly Apologize over Child Abuse - Would WT Society ?

My answer would be, no, never. WT society cannot and will not EVER admit their faults regarding child abuse they failed to report.

In the Sacramento Bee article today it quoted Cardinal Sean Brady as saying " he was " ashamed " of the role he played decades ago in handling accusations of child sexual abuse against a priest who went on later to sexually assault scores of children, and hinted that he might bow to calls for his resignation. Brady stated , " I want to say to anyone who has been hurt by any failure on my part that I apologize to you with all my heart. "

" Brady has faced numerous calls for his resignation in the wake of revelations that he took part in an abuse investigation in 1975 in which a 10 year old and a 14 year old were forced to sign secrecy oaths. Brady, who was a priest at the time , NEVER WENT TO THE POLICE ; the priest who had been accused, the Rev. Brendan Smyth , was convicted in the 1990's and admitted to molesting and raping about 100 children in Ireland and the United States. "

So, let's do the math here . Because Cardinal Sean Brady didn't go to police in 1975 when he should have - it allowed Rev. Brendan Smyth 15 or more years of grooming children for becoming child abuse victims. At least " 100 " more victims because an authority figure DID NOT do their job in protecting innocent children by putting the molester away by police authorities.

Let's do MORE math here. If there are 23,000 to 25,000 Jehovah's Witnesses pedophiles in the organization presently , and elders DO NOT report child abusers to police - how many more child abuse victims do you think will be terrorized ? If one molester can take out 100 children in 15 years what would 23,000 child molesters on the loose do ? I shudder to think. Let's do more math. If each of these 23,000 molesters in 15 years abused 100 children - that would be 2,300, 000 sexually abused children. Even if these 23,000 molesters abused 5 children EACH let's say- that is 115,000 abused children. Incredible. And sick.

So what kind of liability do YOU think the WT society is facing for NOT reporting child abuse to the police ? Instead of admitting their faults in this the WT society in it's website said that only " 11 elders have been charged with child abuse in 100 years of the organization's existence " and that they " abhor the criminal acts of child abuse ". Really ? Then why do they report to their own WT legal department FIRST instead of the police authorities ? Because they don't care about protecting the child victims, they care about their legal protection and false alleged good reputation in the media.

So do you think the WT society would ever " humble ' themselves to admit to this fault and negligence in child abuses in their organization ? As alway- I lok forward to your takes. Peace out to all, and let's protect any and all children. Mr. Flipper

Not the GB, apologizing would be admission of making a mistake and i have never seen them admitting any

mistake or wrongdoing in 140 years.

After all they are being used by the Creator Jehovah......God's Prophet on earth!!!!!!!

Has the WT EVER - EVER - said, in print, "we're sorry"? For ANYTHING? Anywhere? Ever?

It seems to me that the Christian thing to do is to apologize if someone has been hurt, directly or indirectly, by your actions, even if you don't believe you're in the wrong. Never apologizing for anything is essentially equating yourself with God. Which, of course, Faithy Discreety is no stranger to.

Their track record does not portend for good omens. Let THEM prove me wrong.

    Let's back up, Mr. Flipper.

Is Brady "apologizing" to try to save his own ass and his position? Can you really believe it is sincere? If so, why didn't he apologize years ago and come clean and actually try to do something to rectify the situation? Not for one minute will I believe he is sincere or deserving of forgiveness.

He is cruel and corrupt through and through. His fake apology is a lame attempt to save face and "make everything all right" with a few empty words. If people are so stupid as to accept this perfunctory statement as smoothing it all over, then that just gives them consent to continue.

In a case like this where he had explicit knowledge, participation, and engaged in plotting the evil itself....a few obligatory words since he has been caught red handed and exposed...will NEVER be enough.

Do you really see any remorse coming from this criminal? Should he be excused and be above the law simply because he has a powerful position of leadership?

These religious leaders have wielded the 'fear of God' to manipulate others and have used 'the word of god' in a twisted manner to carry out their deceptions, greed, and perverse abominations. There is a point where they are turned over to a reprobate mind and that is the road of no return.

These religious leaders who had so much power to change the world for the better acted in their own self interests instead. This 'apology' is too little too late.

This is the very illustration of the one WTS calls the "FDS". Are these religious leaders not the ones who were left in charge of the Master's business? And are they not the evil slaves who abused those who were in their care? Instead of uplifting people spiritually, did they not take advantage of them, playing on their fears and gullability and innocence?

Do you not remember what the scriptures say about these persons who abused their positions? And those who have been turned over to a reprobate mind?

Should we accept religious leaders who mouth a simple "Oh, I'm sorry" with as much sincerity as though they just bumped into you accidently? Do we say "oh, that's ok" and let it go? Because if we do, nothing will change and this pattern will continue. The time for forgiveness is over. We have entered the time of retribution and these are the instructions we have been given:

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. (Rev. 18:6-7)

    Time is up!

The "last days" are not for the destruction of the little people. The "last days" are for the destruction of these lies and oppression. It has been delegated to those who have the spirit of truth to bring this system down. It's what we have all been working for. It is time.

Have you ever read this website? www.snapnetwork.org

These are ex-Catholics and Catholics that have been fighting the RC over child abuse coverups since 2002. They don't share your view of these apologies as being sincere. This group is made up of victims/survivors of this institutionalized child sexual abuse (yes and the sexual abuse of adults susceptible to the authority of religious leaders).

If the WTS apologized today in words, what do their actions show. What is the RC still doing, covering up other cases.

    SNAP Press Statement

For immediate release: Thursday, March 18, 2010

    SNAP statement on Cardinal Brady

Statement by Barbara Dorris, national Outreach Director 314-862-7688

Cardinal Brady admits being part of a tawdry, self-serving and successful church effort to silence two teenaged clergy sex abuse victims. Yet he resists calls for his resignation.

He should step down. If he refuses, the Pope should oust him.

There are two reasons this should happen. First, Brady's departure would bring comfort to some of the thousands of deeply betrayed Catholics and deeply wounded victims.

Second, it would help deter future recklessness, deceit and callousness by bishops.

More revelations about Brady's misdeeds will likely surface in the weeks and months to come. It defies logic to assume that this is the only clergy sex abuse case in 30 years Brady has mishandled and concealed. History, psychology and common sense tell us that's extremely unlikely.

Let's be clear: one complicit Catholic official stepping aside won't usher in a new day of compassion and transparency and prevention. The church's deeply-rooted, long-standing and widespread cover up of horrific child sex crimes demands broad structural reform.

But one more corrupt church official being removed is a tiny step in that direction.

Brady resigning would be good. Benedict ousting Brady would be better. We call on the Pope to use actions, not words, to show that child sex crimes and cover ups will not be tolerated.

(SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, is the world’s oldest and largest support group for clergy abuse victims. We’ve been around for 21 years and have more than 9,000 members across the country. Despite the word “priest” in our title, we have members who were molested by religious figures of all denominations, including nuns, rabbis, bishops, and Protestant ministers. Imagine having the ability to call for a GB member's (or even a local elder's) resignation over their child rape crimes and still remain a Dub. It's not even possible, sadly. Another thing that makes them a cult.

I think one of the points Flipper was trying to make is that there are support groups like SNAP out there for Catholic's. We as Jehovah's Witnesses have no such group.

I have joined my local SNAP group and they have totally welcomed me. There are a great and very supporting group but they are not Jehovah's Witnesses. If it were not for SNAP and ones like Flipper and others on this board I would have went crazy with dealing with the elders in my hall.

But the crux of the whole matter is we do not have a David Clohessy who fights tirelessly for the victims. The members of my SNAP group think Bill Bowen Silent Lambs is our David Clohessy.

When all of this started for me about the abuse in the "truth" I tried to contact Bill Bowen before I found this web sight, and reconnected with Barbara Anderson. Bill just totally blew me off. See this is the problem with Jehovah's Witnesses is that there is no unity in supporting the victims. Disfellowshipping, shunning, scare the heck off most abuse victims and they shut up. Bill Bowen just made it worse for me.

If we as victims of abuse in the "truth" could stand up as a front like SNAP we could say

"Let's be clear: one complicit Catholic official stepping aside won't usher in a new day of compassion and transparency and prevention. The church's deeply-rooted, long-standing and widespread cover up of horrific child sex crimes demands broad structural reform.

But one more corrupt church official being removed is a tiny step in that direction."

If it were not for SNAP Cardinal Sean Brady would not have done anything to stop the abuse but SNAP forced the issue and brought it to the public. And the public took notice. I have tried to tell JW's and none JW's about the abuse in the "truth" and all I seem to get is just a big yawn.

I do not know what the answers are but the way Jehovah's Witnesses are handling this right now is not in anyway shape or form doing, or is it going to do anything to stop the abuse that is going on RIGHT NOW. Silent Lambs is just making it worse from what I have experience.

The statistics that Flipper gave are scary and could very well be true. Think about the victims that are going through hell right now in the "truth" with no place to go and no support. I know the wrath of the elders as an adult much less a child.

I truly wish I had the answer.

I do want to add that SNAP is wonderful. I am so thankful I found them. For any victims of abuse in the "truth" join your local SNAP group they will welcome you with such care, it is better than being on your own believe me.

And for those of you that think I have not done enough or stood up enough or said enough to stop the abuse myself in my city, you cannot even begin to know what I have done.

Yes it sometimes only takes one voice but it helps to have others behind you. Maybe my one voice has made a difference. I have been shouting this problem to everyone who will listen. I have talked to the police on and on.

Like SNAP it takes victims to Say NO More!

I sorry to add one more post but would it be wonderful to have Ted Jaracz, Samuel Herd, Tony Morris, David Splane, Geoffrey Jackson, Stephen Lett, Guy Pierce, J.R. Brown, David Sinclair, Philip Brumley, or so many others say what Cardinal Sean Brady say.

Yes it would be way to late for all of us victims and I would still be mad. But at least we would have forced them like SNAP did to finally admit that children were and are being rapped because of their stupid polices.
