What's the Deal On Deactivating?

    Marilyn,

What do I seem to be doing to disproportionately gain attention? Also, you seem to assume I don't know what it's like to exit the Watchtower. Could you clarify?
There seems to be a tendency on this forum to dig for insults and get offended.

My question was serious. I thought there must be some reason I was not aware of for getting specifically deleted. I'm not that familiar with using this program, but have done some reading of posts here.

::::::There seem to be quite a few megalomaniacs here, and as many willing to feed them.

Hi Bud, I thought this comment was unnecessarily provocative. I often see new people come along and start out 'on the wrong foot' by implying things that are a little unfair. This is how I interpretted the comment above. I decided to defent the friends here by suggesting that you were attention seeking. (tit for tat) Perhaps you would care to elaborate on the megalomaniac element that you feel exists here. My explanation was that it takes a strong person to exist a cult. We are strong minded people here. Does that make us megalomaniacs?

Bud, for what it's worth, I don't like to argue with people on forums and I rarely do so. (used to when I first got on line, but can't see the point any more). I sensed that you were spoiling for a fight, coz of the above comment and I decided to raise the stakes. I apologise to you completely. I did not mean to offend and I will accept that you did not mean to offend as well.

I'm off to swim laps. (my favorite part of the day!).

Waiting. I love your posts. Thanx for your warm response to mine.

    Marilyn,

Perhaps you're right that my comment was a bit abrasive. I have to admit though that it seems a bit pompous (is that a better word?) to make a big deal out of leaving a forum. I see you admit you would not. You can say that no one would give a rat's ass if you left, but that's just a crude way of saying you have better taste. I admit I find flagrant egotism as being in a glass house inviting stone throwers. But I'll take your advice, because I can see it makes good sense. Thanks.

I think Simon should use the term disfellowshipped.

The Kings and Queens of dramatic exits and tearful re-entrances should love it!

I wonder how much of this is precipitated by the cold depths of winter, the leaving of the sun (for Oz, of all places!), and the State of War here in the USA. All combine to bum one out.

Or maybe it's just personal growth?

In any case, I'm outa here!

    See you tomorrow!!

    No applause! Please, no applause!

Yeah Brucie, I tried the 24/7 gig and found I just couldn't do it, so I left last night for about 10 hours to get some sleep and have a meal for the first time since I logged on here in April 2001.

But I'm back now, baby, rested and fed, and and I'm baaaad!
