I grew up in a family that embraced all these kook ideas as though they were straight from God's mouth. My grandparents and parents took the position that any JW that cooked in aluminum was not a real witness. We unbaptized kids going to school not only had to endure the prohibition of the flag salute and holiday celebrations, ("Dear Miss Jones. Little Gregor can cut out orange circles and green triangles but not pumpkins or Christmas Trees) - we also had to get special notes from our parents excusing us from the mandatory vaccine programs. I can remember my classmates lining up for a sugar cube polio vaccine while I stood off to the side. Fortunately we never needed a blood transfusion.

Thanks for those quotes Terry and as alltime jeff said (I've been thinking about this alot lately). Not one of their "prophecies" have come true. They even said well after 1914 that that was the year Jesus came to earthly power.
