What was the Generation teaching between 1914 and 1927?

Russell claimed the generation would end 1914. In 1927 Rutherford changed the generation teaching by claiming that it applied to the Anointed.

Between 1914 and 1927 was there any specific generation teaching?

Russell actually had a two way bet. Maybe it would end 1914, or maybe it had ended in 1880. I am wondering if after 1914 it just reverted back to 1880?

"A "generation" might be reckoned as equivalent to a century (practically the present limit) or one hundred and twenty years, Moses' lifetime and the Scripture limit. (Gen. 6:3.) Reckoning a hundred years from 1780, the date of the first sign, the limit would reach to 1880… Or, since the Master said, "When ye shall see all these things," and since "the sign of the Son of Man in heaven," and the budding fig tree, and the gathering of "the elect" are counted among the signs, it would not be inconsistent to reckon the "generation" from 1878 to 1914--36 1/2 years-- about the average of human life today." I am pretty sure when 1914 arrived and the end never came, They said 1918 and then went back to 1914 saying the end would come within the life span of the 1914 generation.

    Thanks for the comments.

I was looking specifically for any quotes between 1914 and 1927. I have just run some keyword searches on scans of the old publications and this scripture is only quoted a couple of times, and then never in relation to the time frame of what the generation would be. It seems it did not become a popular doctrine until after the 1951 change.
