Are you forgetting that people did stuff like that for thousands of yrs, as a normal way of doing things? The greeks, romans, jews; it was simply the way things were done. It's still done, in some countries. It's only a few decades ago, that the british and americans started interdicting the slave trade by patroling off the coast of africa.
