I wonder if this conversation could ever take place:
JW: I don't want a blood transfusion.
Doc: Why? it wil save your life, we don't have any other option.
JW: It is against my religion, it is against the teachings in the bible.
Doc: The Bible?
JW: Yes, the Old Testament and the NT.
Doc: Where in the Old testament, I am Jewish and my father is a rabbi scholar.
JW: well....leviticus I think...
Doc: Hmmm, in the OT the only mention of prohibition about blood is dietary restrictions and as atonment for taking the life of an animal, nothing about medical procedures.
JW: Well, you don't seem to knwo the bible.
Doc: Yeah, I guess not, I only spent my whole life reading it in the languare it was written and by teachers that wrote it, where did you learn to read hebrew?
JW: What? ...er...I don't...
Doc: Where did you study the bible? what school or university? do you have a degree in theology?
JW: I was told that is what it said....
Doc: By whom?
