He came to visit on Saturday. I hadn't seen or heard from him for a couple of months, usually we keep in touch by phone at the very least. He told me that he had been going back to meetings and written 2 reinstatement letters. Both had been turned down so far, but that he was going to continue trying. I told him point blank not to become a self righteous, know it all. He still refuses to read any literature that may shed some light on the faith.

He still believes it's the truth, plus I think a big facture is that he doesn't have many friends. When he was in the faith, he had a large circle of friends.

It kills me to know he's going back. I'm losing another family member

    Sorry to hear.

Quite a large group of us are plain trapped in there; would love to leave, but our family and friends are in. Also, for so many such as myself, having grown up indoctrinated, it's very difficult to see ourselves any other place.

Hey, perhaps you won't lose your family member; maybe with being out of the Organization for some time, he may have learned a way to keep it all balanced, by that I mean is to keep contact with the outside while still managing to stay inside the religion. It's what I do, really, to stay sane.

Go easy on the negative stuff you show, though, or he'll think it's Satan trying to attack him, then he'll avoid you like the plague. Just enjoy his company when you can and show him it's not all bad and evil outside of the Org.

Just goes to show how tight the seal the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger puts on the doctrine. You cannot look at any sources that might help you make a sound decision without threat of getting destroyed, and so you continue believing that it is the truth. And, they ruin friendships outside the cancer so, if you leave, you are going to have an even harder time in the world.

Why didn't they just uphold that 20 year sentence on Boozerford in 1918? Or, better yet, make it 25 years to life?
