BTW, did you know that Santa Claus is actually Satan because he wears a red suit and is called St Nicholas (Satan is "old Nick")?
JW system does not like Christmas at all. But they were NOT the first on this one either, I saw the documentary on the Puritans where they made up Thanksgiving as a christian substitute for Christmas - which they considered "Catholic with Pagan overtones"!!!

Wonder how such a mighty super-intellect as Satan could be so stupid. I bet Satan had a more direct way to contact Herod if he wanted to... like I can contact anyone I know by just pressing a few buttons on my gsm phone. Herod would not have shouted Jehovah's name to disconnect the call, would he?

I think that issue with Christamas is that itis a too nice, goody-feeling holiday !

not sure of whats right,
however, would God use astrology (which he despises according to Deut 18:10-12) really use astrology to lead astrologers to his son ?
on the other hand, in ancient times, astrology and astronomy were two sides of the same coin, god certainly does not despise the "scientific" part, the astronomy.
So to observe the stars like a scientist (astronomy) is enough to realize a star, which does not fit into the normal sky, and therefore they followed him. To draw conclusions about somebodies fate (=astrology), this did not happen in that case.
So maybe God just appealed to the "astronomers" in them, and therefore would not contradict his own disgust with astrology.

Makes you wonder if something deeper is going on here - I have long thought that the Witnesses have a sort of Freudian love/hate thing going on with the whole concept of Jesus, and particularly with the deity/equality of Jesus with their precious "Jehovah" image -

Christmas is almost here and it's time to discuss the Watchtower belief that the star of Bethlehem was, in fact, Satan leading the Magi from the East to Jesus so that King Herod can kill him.
Of course, this is pure baloney.
The star was prophecied in the OT
