This "new light" thing. The really "sharp" witnesses, who keep up with "the present understanding" of things, are quick to demonstrate their savvy. In their comments, conversation or when representing a group in prayer, they include little references to let all know that they are up to date. The latest one to irritate me is the "new light" regarding the "fruitage" of the spirit. No longer are the individual qualities in Galations 5 (love, joy, peace, etc) to be spoken of as the fruitages (plural) of God's spirit, but rather as the fruitage (singular.) There have been a lot of that sort of thing over the years.

Who really cares? Why should something so silly be even bothered with? Isn't that all kind of high-minded and empty? Or have I missed something REALLY important?

Its one of those holdovers from the Cold War era, having the insiders lingo correct in case of persecution.

This reminds me of the great debate regarding the difference between "Jesus Christ" and "Christ Jesus".

You've to to be fcking kidding me.

They've highlighted that they figured out that the "sign" of the last days is one composite sign and not several signs.
One composite is made of several different things, so it means "signs of the sign." Absolutely worthless.

They always said "fruitages" of the spirit, now they want to say it's one big "fruitage." Absolutely worthless.

I think it's part of their "proof" that they have God's blessing on them through their changes. If they tell the members about these absolutely worthless changes being so all important, they can sneak all the others in with them.

I mentioned the word "fruitages" in reference to the H. S. once among some main-stream Christians and they asked me where I got that from. They obviously thought that word strange.

I then realized that the word fruitage is kinda weird. Fruit can be singular or plural.

    EX. - KJV

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Ephesians 5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

I think the word "fruitage" was a lemon from the fruit of 'ole Fred Franz heretical mind. JW's like to be different..even in small things.

I think the word Paul used in the Greek, for fruit, is singular . Which would mean that the various things mentioned ,love, joy, peace etc. would ALL have to be present in the Christian man or woman or they do not have the Holy Spirit.

The Dubs are setting the bar higher for themselves by getting closer to what Paul was saying. With the old "fritages" way of looking at it, you could excuse yourself from not having one or more of the qualities, not anymore. Tee Hee. I love it when they make life harder for themselves with Noo Lite.

"This one has more patience and that one more joy, each one expresses the fruitage of the spirit to different degrees." Remember that chestnut? It was how we rolled. W.Once
